About Toby Jones
Toby Jones is a director rooted in sport, movement, and storytelling. Born in Devon, raised on surf, skate, and coastal grit, he brings raw energy and instinctive craft to every frame.
From Formula 1 paddocks to remote island trails, his work blends high-performance storytelling with cinematic flair—capturing moments that move fast, hit deep, and feel real.
🎬 Recent Work
Toby’s recent projects include directing for Red Bull Racing, working with Max Verstappen on sharp, style-led content for Castore. He’s also delivered films for global brands like adidas, Nike, Under Armour, Stone Island, Puma, and Sports Direct—balancing athletic intensity with visual elegance.
Alongside sport, Toby’s built a strong portfolio across fashion and lifestyle, with campaigns that fuse street-level authenticity with elevated, design-driven storytelling.
🏃♂️ Built From Sport
Toby doesn’t just shoot athletes—he is one. An ultra-runner with over 15 ultra-marathons under his belt, his work is informed by a deep, personal understanding of endurance: the psychology, the repetition, the breakthroughs. It’s a lived-in perspective that translates into work that feels honest and earned.
🇳🇿 The Hardest Geezer & Beyond
Most recently, he spent 10 weeks travelling through New Zealand, directing a YouTube series with Russ Cook (aka “The Hardest Geezer”) as he ran the entire length of the country. The series mixes cinematic sweep with behind-the-scenes grit—capturing everything from roadside carnage to rare moments of stillness.
🎥 Why It Works
Toby brings a filmmaker’s eye, an athlete’s mindset, and a brand’s understanding of impact. Whether it’s a punchy fashion spot, a sports doc, or a stripped-back portrait of resilience—he knows how to find the moment that matters.
For projects built on movement, culture, or character—Toby brings the miles, the eye, and the story.
